British Airways has launched two new routes from London, adding St. Louis in the United States and Guernsey in the Channel Islands to its network.
The new transatlantic service to St. Louis marks the airline’s 27th U.S. destination, with four weekly flights from London Heathrow Airport operated by Boeing 787 aircraft. British Airways is currently the only UK carrier offering direct flights to the Midwestern city, positioning the route to capture leisure and event-driven demand, including Route 66 celebrations and major U.S. sporting events.
At the same time, the airline has introduced a daily year-round service to Guernsey, creating the only direct link between the island and Heathrow. The route strengthens regional connectivity and provides onward access to British Airways’ global network.
The dual launch reflects the airline’s strategy of balancing long-haul expansion with regional connectivity, offering both transatlantic growth opportunities and improved short-haul access.
Further expansion is planned, with seasonal flights to Tivat set to begin in May, operating three times weekly.
Bottom line: British Airways is continuing to broaden its network footprint, combining niche long-haul routes with underserved regional links to capture a wider range of travel demand.
