Aer Lingus is expanding into Scandinavia for the first time, announcing a new direct service between Dublin and Oslo beginning 1 May 2026. The launch follows the airline’s recent debut in Tromsø and marks its first operations in Norway.

The new route will offer a flight time of under two and a half hours, opening convenient access for Norwegian travellers to Dublin’s major cultural attractions, including Trinity College, the Book of Kells, the Temple Bar district, and Ireland’s scenic golf and heritage destinations.

Avinor welcomed the announcement, noting Aer Lingus has not operated in Scandinavia since 2016. Ulv Elbirk, Director of Route Development, highlighted the value of the carrier’s arrival for both Oslo and Tromsø as part of a strengthened route network.

VisitOSLO also praised the new connection. CEO Christian Lunde said the service creates an excellent opportunity to showcase Oslo’s arts scene, culinary offerings, and natural surroundings to Irish visitors, while deepening ties between the two countries.

As part of the IAG Group, Aer Lingus will also offer Norwegian passengers enhanced connectivity to major U.S. destinations through its Dublin hub. Travellers will benefit from smooth onward links to New York, Boston, Washington, and more.

Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer Susanne Carberry emphasised Oslo’s appeal and the improved transatlantic connections the route will provide.
