Aer Lingus reported a Q2 2025 operating profit of €135 million, up from €91 million in Q2 2024, bringing its H1 2025 profit to €80 million, a sharp rise from just €9 million in H1 2024.

Key drivers of the strong performance included:

  • 10.9% capacity growth and a 4.3% rise in passenger numbers
  • Expanded transatlantic network, including new Dublin routes to Nashville and Indianapolis
  • Growth in European leisure services and favourable fuel prices

The airline also announced a new direct route to Cancún, launching in January 2026, and received its third A321XLR aircraft in May, with three more due this year.

Despite the strong results, CEO Lynne Embleton warned that recent regulatory restrictions—especially a night-time movement cap at Dublin Airport and ongoing uncertainty about the passenger cap—could hinder future growth and investment. She called for urgent government intervention to remove these limits to safeguard economic and employment prospects.

Aer Lingus was also ranked 4th most trusted brand in Ireland in the May 2025 Ireland Reputation Index.
