On 10 December, an IndiGo Airbus A320neo (VT-ITR) operating an Indian domestic flight between Jaipur and Kolkata was forced to make an emergency landing after smoke was reported inside the cabin. The pilots declared an emergency and made a steep descend towards Kolkata airport, after landing an emergency evacuation was initiated.

Cabin crew should protect themselves by using smokehoods,
the use of oxygen bottles doesn’t make sense as the oxygen is dilluted with the air inside the cabin,
a pile-up at the bottom of the slide should be avoided, evacuation can go a lot quicker.
