IndiGo has officially launched its first-ever long-haul service, offering direct flights between Mumbai and Manchester, making it the only airline to connect the two cities nonstop.
The route is operated three times weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays) using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, damp-leased from Norse Atlantic Airways, and marks IndiGo’s move toward becoming a global carrier.
The Dreamliner features 56 IndiGoStretch and 282 Economy seats, all equipped with personal entertainment screens offering around 300 hours of content. Passengers on the new route will enjoy complimentary hot meals and beverages, highlighting Indian cuisine and brands.
CEO Pieter Elbers called the launch “a milestone in IndiGo’s internationalisation strategy and a boost to economic, cultural, and educational ties between India and the UK.”
This launch follows IndiGo’s recognition as ‘Best Airline in India and South Asia’ at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
