Icelandair has launched flights between Edinburgh and Reykjavik, with the inaugural service marking the airline’s second Scottish route alongside Glasgow. Originally planned as a seasonal connection, the route has already been upgraded to year-round operation following strong demand.

Operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8, the service runs three to four times weekly, with flight times designed for smooth onward connections across Icelandair’s 18 North American destinations and wider global network.

The launch coincides with the 80th anniversary of Icelandair flights to Scotland, reinforcing the airline’s historic role in linking the two countries.
