Hawaiian Airlines has officially joined the oneworld alliance, marking a major milestone for the carrier and significantly boosting global connectivity to and from Hawai‘i.
The move integrates Hawaiian Airlines into a network of 15 member carriers serving nearly 1,000 destinations across more than 170 countries. It is the airline’s first participation in a major global alliance in its nearly century-long history, making international travel more seamless for both residents of Hawai‘i and visitors.
A key benefit lies in loyalty integration. Members of the airline’s Atmos Rewards programme—shared with Alaska Airlines—can now earn and redeem points across all oneworld carriers, while enjoying reciprocal elite status perks such as lounge access, priority boarding, and additional baggage allowances. Likewise, frequent flyers from other oneworld airlines can access similar benefits when flying with Hawaiian.
The development strengthens the broader strategy of Alaska Air Group, following Alaska Airlines’ own entry into the alliance in 2021. Together, the two carriers expand their global footprint and enhance competition in the U.S. aviation market, while offering travellers more choice and connectivity.
Hawaiian Airlines currently operates around 230 daily flights and carried over 11 million passengers in 2025, linking the islands with key hubs across North America, Asia, and the South Pacific. Its integration into oneworld is expected to further support tourism to Hawai‘i by making travel more accessible and rewarding.
The airline also plans to celebrate its new alliance membership later this year with a dedicated oneworld-themed livery on one of its Airbus A330 aircraft.
Industry leaders say the move not only enhances passenger experience but also strengthens Hawai‘i’s economic ties to global markets, reinforcing tourism and supporting local businesses across the islands.
