Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) delivered the second ARJ21 aircraft to Genghis Khan Airlines in Nantong on June 4th, 2019. This aircraft took off from Nantong, arrived at Hohhot Baita International Airport, and joined the fleet of Genghis Khan Airlines officially.

As the same with the first ARJ21 aircraft of Genghis Khan Airlines, this ARJ21 aircraft is in a two-class layout with 8 super economy class seats and 70 economy class seats. Each seat is equipped with a USB charging interface, making it comfortable to ride. ARJ21 aircraft has excellent performance in high temperature, severe cold and plateau conditions, and especially could meet the requirements of take-off and landing at the airports in mid-western & north regions of China and obstacle clearance along complex routes.

An emergency evacuation demonstration of ARJ21-700 aircraft was performed by Genghis Khan Airlines at Hohhot airport on the same day, and was successfully authenticated by CAAC North China Regional Administration. Two scenarios of rejected takeoff, i.e., cabin lithium battery fire and engine fire, were simulated during this demonstration. During the whole demonstration, the flight crew and the cabin crew responded calmly and quickly, operated normatively, coordinated well, and evacuated within the specified time, meeting the standards required by regulations. As authenticated by the review team, the emergency evacuation demonstration of Genghis Khan Airlines was completed successfully.

Genghis Khan Airlines was approved by Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to make preparations in March 2018, and obtained the Public Air Transport Operator’s Certificate on January 22nd, 2019. At present, Genghis Khan Airlines is in the phase of operation certification, and is in the process of verification flight test. At the initial stage of operation, Genghis Khan Airlines will focus on expanding the route network in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and increasing the flight density, so as to realize the public transport by air between league cities and the capital, and improve the travel efficiency of residents and tourists in the Region.
