SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Garuda Indonesia have signed a new codeshare agreement aimed at improving travel between Scandinavia and Indonesia through their combined international networks.
The partnership will provide easier connections between Indonesia’s main gateways—Jakarta and Denpasar (Bali)—and the Scandinavian capitals of Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo.
Initially, connections will be available via:
- Amsterdam
- Tokyo Haneda Airport
From the winter 2026/27 schedule, connections via Bangkok are also planned.
The agreement was signed at the annual meeting of the International Air Transport Association in Rio de Janeiro by Anko van der Werff and Neil Raymond Mills.
As fellow members of the SkyTeam alliance, the two airlines say the partnership is designed to strengthen links between Europe and Southeast Asia. SAS customers will gain improved access to Indonesia through Garuda’s domestic and regional network, while Garuda passengers will gain access to destinations across Scandinavia through SAS.
The cooperation also extends to loyalty programs. Members of SAS’ EuroBonus and Garuda’s GarudaMiles will be able to earn and redeem points across the combined network.
Tickets covered by the codeshare agreement will go on sale from 9 June 2026, with the first travel date set for 15 June 2026.
The agreement further strengthens SAS’ growing network in Asia following its move to SkyTeam and provides Scandinavian travellers with significantly improved access to Indonesia, one of Southeast Asia’s largest and fastest-growing travel markets.
