Freebird Airlines Europe has launched a new nonstop route between Cologne Bonn Airport and Fuerteventura, further expanding its summer network from the German airport.
The new service, which began on 27 June, operates once a week on Sundays using an Airbus A320 based at Cologne Bonn Airport for the summer season.
Fuerteventura is the first of several new destinations being added by Freebird Airlines Europe from Cologne/Bonn this summer. From 11 July, the carrier will also launch flights to the Greek islands of Kos, Rhodes and Heraklion on Crete. Meanwhile, sister airline Freebird Airlines continues to operate daily services to Antalya.
Cologne Bonn Airport CEO Thilo Schmid welcomed the addition of the Canary Islands route, noting the continued popularity of the archipelago among German holidaymakers.
Known for its year-round mild climate, extensive beaches and favourable surfing conditions, Fuerteventura is one of the Canary Islands’ leading leisure destinations and attracts visitors from across Europe throughout the year.
