Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier flynas has placed an order for 25 additional Airbus aircraft, comprising five A330-900s and 20 A321neos, further expanding its all-Airbus fleet.
The latest agreement increases flynas’ total commitment to 20 A330neos and 56 A321neos, bringing its overall firm Airbus order book to 235 aircraft. The airline currently operates 67 Airbus aircraft, including A330-300s, A320ceos and A320neos.
flynas said the additional aircraft will support the expansion of its domestic, regional and long-haul network, strengthen operations across its six Saudi Arabian bases, and support the growth of flynas Syria. The airline also aims to play a greater role in Saudi Arabia’s tourism strategy, major international events such as Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup, and the Kingdom’s Pilgrim Experience Programme.
Airbus said the order underlines the popularity of its latest-generation aircraft. The A321neo offers at least 20% lower fuel consumption and CO? emissions than previous-generation single-aisle aircraft, while the A330neo delivers 25% lower fuel burn, emissions and operating costs than comparable older widebody aircraft.
