flydubai launches first direct Dubai–Riga service, expanding European network

Share

flydubai has inaugurated its first direct flights between Dubai and Riga, becoming the first UAE carrier to operate nonstop services to the Latvian capital. The three-times-weekly route connects Dubai International Airport (DXB) with Riga International Airport (RIX) and marks a new milestone in air connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Latvia.

The new service is expected to boost tourism, business, and cultural exchange, while giving Latvian travellers direct access to Dubai’s global hub and onward connections. Operated as part of the flydubai–Emirates codeshare partnership, the route offers seamless connectivity, single-ticket travel, and through-checked baggage across a combined network of more than 240 destinations worldwide.

With the addition of Riga—alongside new services to Chisinau, Iasi, and Vilnius—flydubai has expanded its European footprint to 35 destinations across 20 countries. The airline continues to operate a modern fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, offering an enhanced Business Class experience and complimentary in-flight entertainment and meals in Economy Class.
