Flybe flights between Antwerp and Southend know a good start

Increasing numbers of passengers depart on Easter holidays from regional airports

Flybe flights were introduced earlier this week. Meanwhile, there are already a lot of passengers who used the Antwerp-London Southend connection, reason enough to pamper Flybe’s passengers.

Flybe offers 4 flights a week from Antwerp to London Southend and mainly targets city trippers who want to enjoy the English capital. It is striking that many English people use this new connection to travel to Antwerp.

The flights are operated by an ATR72-600 plane with 70 seats and the flight time will be less than 1 hour. Flybe, operated by Stobart Air, also offers fast and convenient connections to Dublin, Manchester and Glasgow via London Southend airport.

Ciaran Smith, Network Development Manager Stobart Air: “We are delighted to be able to offer Antwerp as a destination within our network and to be able to offer more choices to our passengers.”

Marcel Buelens, CEO Antwerp & Ostend-Bruges Airports, welcomes Flybe to Antwerp: “Many Belgian and Dutch travellers love a city trip to London and this one offers them a perfect affordable choice for a short break.” He adds: “I am also very enthusiastic about the connections that are offered; this will expand the number of destinations from Antwerp and the incoming traffic of Great Britain and Ireland to Antwerp will also increase.”

Easter excursion

More and more Belgian holidaymakers choose the Easter holiday as the second holiday period of the year. The regional airports, in particular, are experiencing a sharp increase, as TUI has recorded 25% more passengers for Antwerp Airport compared to the Easter holidays in 2017.
