Armenia inaugurated a new direct route between Vienna and Yerevan on April 3, 2026, marking the airline’s entry into the Austrian market and enhancing connectivity between Central Europe and the Caucasus.
The service initially operates once weekly and will increase to three weekly flights from June 2026, using an Airbus A320. With this addition, total weekly capacity between Vienna and the Armenian capital is set to reach 10 flights during the summer season.
Vienna Airport highlighted the route as a strategic expansion, boosting both tourism and business travel, while improving access to an emerging destination known for its cultural heritage, landscapes, and cuisine.
Yerevan, one of the world’s oldest cities, offers attractions such as Republic Square and the Cascade Complex, and serves as a gateway to Armenia’s mountainous scenery and historic monasteries. The new connection is expected to stimulate inbound tourism from Armenia while providing European travellers with easier access to the region.
