Finnair anticipates major flight cancellations on July 2, 4, and 7 due to four-hour strikes announced by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU), which will severely impact ground services at Helsinki Airport. Over 900 Finnair flights are scheduled across those days, and even flights before and after may be affected.
Customers booked on affected dates can change their travel free of charge for departures until the end of September, either online or via customer service. Cancellations will begin two days before each strike date as Finnair assesses staffing levels.
Finnair urges customers not to contact customer service yet, as exact flight statuses remain unknown. Passengers whose flights are cancelled will be informed and rebooked automatically, with options to change routes or request a refund.
Additional strike days have been announced for July 16, 18, 21, and 23, though their expected impact is less severe.
