Finnair carried 1.01 million passengers in September 2025, matching last year’s level, with strong growth in Asian routes—especially to Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya—and modest gains in European traffic. However, passenger numbers fell sharply on North Atlantic and Middle Eastern routes and declined clearly in domestic travel.
Overall capacity (ASK) and traffic (RPK) remained stable, with regional variations balancing out. The North Atlantic capacity drop reflected reduced Dallas frequencies, while Middle Eastern ASKs fell following the end of Finnair’s Qatar Airways cooperation on flights from Stockholm and Copenhagen to Doha in January 2025.
The passenger load factor improved by 1.1 percentage points to 77.3%, supported by better performance in Asian and Middle Eastern markets. Cargo volumes declined by 5.7%, and on-time performance rose to 83.1%, up from 79.7% a year earlier.
