Finnair carried just over 1.03 million passengers in April 2026, a 6.3% increase year-on-year, supported by recovering capacity after industrial action impacted operations in April 2025. Passenger growth was strongest on Asian and European routes, while North Atlantic traffic declined and Middle East services remained suspended due to regional security concerns.
Overall capacity rose 1.9%, driven mainly by additional flights to Osaka and Nagoya, although North American capacity fell because of reduced services to Los Angeles and Chicago. Passenger traffic increased by 5.1%, while load factor improved by 2.4 percentage points to 78%.
The airline also reported a sharp 14.7% rise in unit revenue (RASK), helped by stronger demand and improved aircraft utilisation. Cargo volumes grew 7.6%, particularly on European and Asian routes, and operational punctuality improved significantly, with 87.5% of flights arriving on schedule.
