Finnair’s traffic figures for November 2025 show broadly stable performance, with notable strength on North Atlantic routes offsetting declines elsewhere. The airline carried 893,200 passengers during the month, a slight 0.6% decrease compared to November 2024.
Passenger numbers rose sharply on North Atlantic services and registered modest gains in both Asian and European markets. However, traffic to the Middle East dropped significantly following the end of Finnair’s cooperation with Qatar Airways on routes from Stockholm and Copenhagen to Doha in January 2025. Domestic passenger numbers also edged down.
Overall capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), slipped by 0.9%. Capacity rose strongly on North Atlantic routes and clearly on Asian routes—reflecting increased frequencies to Dallas, Phuket and Hong Kong—and grew marginally in Europe and domestically. Middle Eastern capacity fell due to the Qatar Airways partnership ending. Including wet leases, total capacity was down 0.8%.
Revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) decreased by 0.7%, with growth recorded on North Atlantic, Asian and European routes, while Middle Eastern and domestic RPKs declined.
Finnair’s passenger load factor improved slightly to 74.1%, up 0.2 percentage points year-on-year. Load factors strengthened in European and Middle Eastern traffic but weakened on Domestic, Asian and North Atlantic routes.
Cargo performance softened, with total cargo tonnage down 6.6% and revenue cargo tonne kilometres falling 4%.
Operational reliability remained strong: 85.7% of flights arrived on time, a significant improvement from 71.5% a year earlier, when severe snowstorms at Helsinki Airport disrupted operations.
