Finnair carried 904,400 passengers in February 2026, representing a 6.9% increase compared with the same month last year, when industrial action constrained operations.
Capacity and traffic growth
The airline’s capacity (ASK) increased 4.8% year-on-year, largely reflecting the end of last year’s labour disruptions and additional frequencies to key destinations including Osaka, Tokyo, and Dallas, as well as expanded services to Lapland. Including wet-lease operations, total capacity rose 4.4%.
Traffic measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) grew 8.5%, with increases recorded across all traffic regions.
Strong demand across markets
Passenger growth was particularly strong on routes to Asia, while domestic and European services also posted clear gains. Traffic to the Middle East increased slightly, while North Atlantic passenger volumes remained stable.
The airline’s passenger load factor (PLF) improved 2.6 percentage points to 77.7%, supported by stronger demand. Load factors rose on European, Asian, and domestic routes, but declined slightly on North Atlantic and Middle Eastern services.
Revenue and cargo performance
Unit revenue (RASK) increased 2.3%, driven by the improved load factor. Meanwhile, cargo volumes grew strongly, with total cargo tonnes rising 9.3% and revenue cargo tonne kilometres increasing 11.5%, particularly on North Atlantic and Asian routes.
Operational performance
Operational punctuality was impacted by challenging winter conditions. 68.4% of flights arrived on time, compared with 81.2% in February 2025, with severe weather cited as the main factor affecting performance.
