Finnair has become the first airline in the world to introduce ancillary combos, or bundled add-on services, enabled by Amadeus’s modern retailing technology. The move follows Finnair’s transition earlier this year to native orders, which consolidate all customer details and purchases into a single record, replacing legacy systems.
The first combo—seat selection plus in-flight internet at a discounted price—is available on flights with full internet coverage, initially in select European markets before expanding globally this autumn. Additional bundles, including meals, priority services, carry-on, and lounge access, will be introduced later.
Chief Digital Officer Antti Kleemola said the launch provides customers with more choice and personalisation, while also enhancing the booking experience. The offer was “well received” at launch, he added.
