Finnair will cancel around 60 flights this Friday, 16 May, due to industrial action by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) at Helsinki Airport. The four-hour work stoppages, impacting multiple shifts, are expected to disrupt ground handling and catering services throughout the day, affecting approximately 6,000 passengers.
Affected customers will be rebooked on alternative flights, which are viewable via Finnair’s website and app. Refunds are available for unused tickets. Passengers are advised to update contact details, check in early, and carry essential items in hand luggage due to possible baggage handling delays.
Similar industrial action is announced for Monday, 19 May, with potential further disruption under review.
