Finnair will cancel approximately 128 flights on Thursday, 19 June, due to industrial action by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) at Helsinki Airport. The four-hour strike affects key services like ground handling and catering, disrupting Finnair operations throughout the day and impacting around 8,225 passengers.
Affected customers will be informed of cancellations and offered alternative routes via Finnair’s Manage booking tool or mobile app. They may also request a refund for unused tickets. Finnair warns of long customer service wait times due to the high volume of inquiries.
Passengers flying on 19 June are advised to check in online, arrive early, and carry essential items—like medications—in hand luggage, as baggage handling delays are expected. Finnair previously allowed travellers to reschedule flights in advance to avoid strike-related disruption.
