Spanish carrier Euroairlines has cancelled its planned winter flights from Brussels to Punta Cana and Cancún, dealing another blow to Brussels Airport’s long-haul offering. The airline will maintain only its Paris–Punta Cana service this winter, according to information confirmed by mobilithib in our forum.
The cancellations come after TUI fly Belgium announced the withdrawal of its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner from Caribbean routes, leaving Brussels without any direct flights to the region this winter.
Euroairlines had originally scheduled operations between October 4, 2025, and May 30, 2026, but later reduced the programme to December and January due to weak bookings in the early months. The final decision to cancel followed the loss of access to a long-haul aircraft, a setback linked to the collapse of a planned leasing deal with TUI in August.
TUI ultimately chose another partner able to operate the Boeing 787 six days per week, compared to Euroairlines’ proposal of three weekly rotations. However, no new agreement has yet been signed.
Despite the setback, Euroairlines emphasised that relations with TUI remain “positive and cordial,” adding that it “fully understands and respects the commercial decision that has been taken.”
