Etihad Airways will significantly expand its Munich operations from 1 September 2026 by increasing flights on the Munich–Abu Dhabi route from two to three daily nonstop services. The additional afternoon frequency will be operated by the Airbus A321LR, while the existing two daily flights will continue to be served by Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
The move responds to growing demand and further strengthens Etihad’s presence at Munich Airport, where the airline has carried around four million passengers since launching services in 2004. The new flight will depart Munich at 16:10 and is now open for booking.
Via its Abu Dhabi hub, Etihad offers extensive onward connections to the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, enhancing options for both business and leisure travellers. Abu Dhabi itself remains a key destination, combining cultural attractions, major events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix, and expanding leisure infrastructure.
The Airbus A321LR plays a central role in Etihad’s growth strategy, offering long-range efficiency alongside a premium onboard product, including First Suites, lie-flat Business Class seats with direct aisle access, and an upgraded Economy cabin.
