U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a $14.5 billion deal between Etihad Airways, Boeing, and GE Aerospace, part of a broader $200 billion U.S.-UAE trade package. The deal includes 28 wide-body Boeing aircraft—a mix of 787 and 777X models—powered by GE engines, with deliveries beginning in 2028.
Etihad said the order supports its strategy to modernise and expand its fleet, aligning with its goal to reach over 170 aircraft by 2030. The airline currently operates around 100 planes and is owned by Abu Dhabi’s $225 billion ADQ sovereign wealth fund.
The White House emphasized the deal’s role in strengthening U.S.-UAE aviation ties, boosting American manufacturing and exports. The announcement comes alongside major aviation deals in the region, including a $96 billion order from Qatar Airways for Boeing aircraft.
