New flights to Tunis, Hanoi, Chiang Mai, and Hong Kong expand network to 85 destinations

Etihad Airways has marked a major expansion milestone, launching four new routes in just three days to Tunis, Hanoi, Chiang Mai, and Hong Kong, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a key global gateway.

The new flights will boost tourism and trade, contributing to nearly 45% of the UAE’s total aviation growth in 2025. Together, they add thousands of new seats to and from Abu Dhabi, making travel to the UAE easier for passengers from Africa and Asia while offering UAE residents new leisure and business destinations.

“Each of these destinations adds its own character to our network – from Tunis’s heritage to Hanoi’s vibrancy, Chiang Mai’s charm, and Hong Kong’s global energy,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways. “They expand options for our guests while bringing more visitors to discover Abu Dhabi – one of the world’s most exciting cities.”

New routes from Abu Dhabi

  • Tunis – Three weekly flights (Tue, Thu, Sat) from 1 November using A321LR, enhancing connectivity with North Africa.

  • Hanoi – Six weekly flights from 2 November operated by Boeing 787, Etihad’s first direct link to Vietnam’s capital.

  • Chiang Mai – Four weekly flights (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun) from 3 November with A321LR, opening Northern Thailand to UAE travellers.

  • Hong Kong – Five weekly flights (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sun) from 3 November on Boeing 787, alongside the relaunch of Etihad’s codeshare with Hong Kong Airlines for extended Asian connectivity.

With these additions, Etihad’s global network now exceeds 85 destinations, underscoring its expanding role in connecting Abu Dhabi with the world and driving economic and tourism growth across the UAE.
