Etihad Airways and SAS Scandinavian Airlines have entered into a strategic codeshare agreement aimed at enhancing connectivity for their customers. This agreement allows passengers from both airlines to access a wider range of destinations across each other’s networks.
Travellers can book single tickets and check in only once, with their baggage transferred to their final destination. Etihad’s Chief Revenue Officer, Arik De, highlighted that this partnership improves travel options for guests from Northern Europe to Abu Dhabi and beyond, connecting them to a growing global network. The agreement provides one-stop access to multiple Scandinavian cities like Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Gothenburg, Bergen, and Aarhus.
The codeshare agreement will be fully operational starting in December 2023, with booking options available through Etihad’s sales channels. Additionally, this partnership extends the relationship between Etihad and SAS, including collaboration in their frequent flyer programmes, where members can earn miles when flying with either airline.
