Etihad Airways will introduce its flagship Airbus A380 on the Abu Dhabi–Bangkok route from 25 October 2026, marking the aircraft’s debut in Thailand and boosting capacity ahead of the peak winter travel season.
The A380 will operate daily on Etihad’s evening service between Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Bangkok (BKK), strengthening connectivity between Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The deployment brings Etihad’s signature product, The Residence—the world’s only three-room suite in the sky—to the Thai market. Located on the upper deck, The Residence accommodates two guests and includes a private living room, bedroom and ensuite shower room.
The A380 configuration also includes:
Nine First Apartments with separate lounge seating and 80-inch lie-flat beds, plus access to a First shower room.
70 Business Class seats with direct aisle access and lie-flat beds, alongside The Lobby lounge and bar.
337 Economy seats, including 68 Economy Space seats offering extra legroom.
The move responds to strong leisure demand on one of Etihad’s most popular routes and supports Abu Dhabi’s positioning as a global transit hub. Through its stopover programme, travellers can combine Bangkok with a stay in Abu Dhabi, including attractions such as Louvre Abu Dhabi.

EY403: Bangkok 08:30 ? Abu Dhabi 12:20 (daily, A380)
With the Bangkok launch, Etihad continues the phased reintroduction of its A380 fleet, aligning premium capacity with high-demand long-haul leisure markets.
