Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines have strengthened air links between the UAE and Vietnam with the launch of a new codeshare partnership that builds on Etihad’s recently inaugurated Abu Dhabi–Hanoi service.

The agreement gives Etihad passengers streamlined access to key cities across Vietnam and popular destinations throughout Asia, all on a single ticket with unified check-in and baggage handling. In return, Vietnam Airlines customers will gain phased access to six destinations beyond Abu Dhabi — Athens, Addis Ababa, Bahrain, Muscat, Cairo, and Istanbul — significantly extending the carrier’s reach into the Middle East, Europe, and Africa via Etihad’s network.

The airlines have also reinforced their cooperation through an expanded frequent-flyer partnership, allowing Etihad Guest and Lotusmiles members to earn and redeem miles across both carriers’ global routes.

Executives from both airlines said the collaboration enhances travel convenience, deepens economic ties, and opens new tourism opportunities between Vietnam and the UAE.
