Etihad Airways will begin direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Damascus on 12 June 2026, marking a significant expansion of its Middle East network. The service will operate four times weekly on Airbus A320 aircraft, offering both Business and Economy cabins.
The new route responds to rising demand for travel between the UAE and Syria, providing Syrian travellers with direct access to Abu Dhabi and onward connections across Etihad’s global network. CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted the flights as a way to strengthen cultural, social, and economic ties, with bilateral trade rising 23% in 2024 and more than 350,000 Syrians living in the UAE.
Damascus becomes Etihad’s 28th new destination announced within the past year, supporting the airline’s growth strategy as it targets 38 million annual passengers by 2030.
