Etihad Airways and Hong Kong Airlines have launched a new codeshare partnership and signed a reciprocal loyalty agreement, enhancing travel options and rewards for passengers across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
Under the new codeshare, Etihad passengers can now book Hong Kong Airlines-operated flights from Hong Kong to Japanese destinations including Fukuoka, Hokkaido-Sapporo, Osaka, and Okinawa, while Hong Kong Airlines’ flights between Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi will carry the Etihad ‘EY’ code. Travellers benefit from one ticket, single check-in and through baggage.
A new loyalty partnership between Etihad Guest and Fortune Wings Club will soon allow members to earn and redeem miles across both airlines’ networks, extending Etihad’s growing portfolio of global partners.
Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Arik De, said the partnership “delivers meaningful value through expanded connectivity and full loyalty integration,” while Louis Li, Executive Vice President of Hong Kong Airlines, described it as a key step in the carrier’s international recovery and a boost to ties between Hong Kong and the GCC region.
The renewed cooperation, first established in 2014, positions Abu Dhabi as a major bridge between Greater China, Japan, and the Middle East, offering travellers enhanced flexibility and seamless global access.
