Ethiopian Airlines has firmed up an order for six more Airbus A350-900s, reinforcing its position as Africa’s largest A350 operator. The agreement was signed at the Dubai Airshow by Group CEO Mesfin Tasew and Airbus EVP Sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry.
Tasew said the additional aircraft support the airline’s long-term strategy to grow sustainably while offering a world-class passenger experience. Airbus welcomed the deal, highlighting Ethiopian’s role as a benchmark carrier in Africa and praising the A350’s efficiency and versatility.
The Airbus A350-900 features advanced aerodynamics, lightweight materials and the latest Rolls-Royce engines, delivering up to 25% lower fuel burn and CO? emissions compared to previous-generation widebodies. Its Airspace cabin is designed to enhance comfort on long-haul routes of up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 km).
