Ethiopian Airlines will launch a new thrice-weekly passenger service to Lyon, France, starting 2 July 2026. The route will operate via Geneva, further strengthening the carrier’s presence in France, where it already serves Paris and Marseille.
The new service will be operated with Airbus A350 aircraft, offering flights between Addis Ababa, Geneva and Lyon on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. With this addition, Ethiopian Airlines aims to enhance connectivity between France, Switzerland, Africa and its wider global network.
Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said the launch underscores France’s long-standing importance to the airline, which has connected the country to Africa and beyond for more than 50 years. He highlighted the new route’s role in supporting trade, tourism and people-to-people links, while providing seamless access to over 65 destinations across Africa and onward connections worldwide.
Ethiopian Airlines continues to expand its international network using a young, fuel-efficient fleet, reinforcing its position as a key aviation bridge between Europe and Africa.
