Emirates introduces electrically powered Premium Economy seat with privacy divider

Share

Emirates has unveiled what it describes as the world’s first fully electrically powered Premium Economy seat featuring a full-height adjustable privacy screen.

The new product will debut aboard newly delivered Airbus A350s. Their Premium Economy cabins will contain 28 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, with seats measuring 20 inches wide and offering up to 39 inches of pitch.

Passengers can electrically adjust the seat and raise or lower the privacy divider through an integrated control panel. Preset lounge and dining positions are provided, while the cradle-style recline does not intrude into the space of the passenger behind.

Other features include Safran’s adjustable U-Dream leather headrest, a manually deployed footrest, wireless charging, USB-C connectivity and a tray table with an integrated phone holder. Entertainment is delivered through a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen, complemented by additional external camera views.

The product builds on Emirates’ existing Premium Economy service, which includes upgraded dining, fine china, selected wines and amenity kits on long-haul flights. Premium Economy is currently available throughout the airline’s A350 network.
