Emirates has expanded its inflight meal preordering service across European routes, following a successful launch on UK routes. The service is now available for flights to and from European cities like Warsaw, Venice, Rome, Bologna, Prague, Vienna, Moscow, Istanbul, Dublin, Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Brussels, and Madrid, as well as to and from Seychelles and Mauritius.
This initiative, which will continue to roll out on more global routes in the coming months, allows Business Class passengers to preselect their main course between 14 days and 24 hours before their flight. This ensures they receive their preferred meal choice and helps reduce food wastage.
Passengers can browse the onboard menu on Emirates.com or the Emirates app to choose from regionally inspired dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Business Class meal options include dishes like chocolate hazelnut pancakes with apricot compote and ricotta sour cream for breakfast, beef tenderloin with thyme jus, roasted potato wedges, and steamed vegetables for lunch, and pan-fried salmon trout with saffron cream, blanched green beans, braised beetroot, and polenta with spring onions for dinner.
Onboard the aircraft, the cabin crew will use digital devices to serve passengers their preordered meals. This meal-preordering service complements Emirates’ existing AI-enabled customer preference tracking data and cabin crew reports, which assist in menu planning, food loading, and waste minimisation.
Emirates continues to focus on digitally enabled journeys and innovation, offering a range of services such as website check-in, app check-in, digital boarding passes, access to digital inflight menus, easy sign-up to Skywards for free Wi-Fi messaging onboard, and ice inflight entertainment playlist curation in advance of a flight.
