Emirates A380 premium economy

Emirates is scaling up its global operations with a wave of network and fleet enhancements, deploying more retrofitted Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s to meet growing demand. The airline’s latest schedule updates include increased frequencies to Milan, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires, and upgraded A380 services to Shanghai, Singapore, and Zurich, with more customers set to experience its sought-after Premium Economy product.

From 26 October 2025, Emirates will:

  • Add a third daily flight to Milan (EK101/102) using a Boeing 777-300ER.
  • Upgrade its Rio de Janeiro–Buenos Aires route (EK247/248) to daily service.
  • Deploy the A380 on Shanghai route EK302/303, while EK304/305 will be served by a retrofitted Boeing 777 from 20 July.
  • Upgrade its third daily Singapore service (EK314/315) to an A380 this winter.

Further enhancements are set for 1 February 2026, when Emirates will:

  • Switch Zurich service EK85/86 to an A380, replacing a retrofitted 777.
  • Introduce Premium Economy on Zurich’s EK87/88, served by a newly retrofitted A380.

The expanded deployment of Emirates’ retrofitted aircraft follows the rapid progress of its extensive cabin upgrade programme, which began in November 2022. The airline has now completed 60 aircraft, with a full refurbishment carried out every three weeks. Each refreshed aircraft includes a new Premium Economy cabin and upgrades across all classes.

Despite regional volatility in recent months, Emirates reports steady operations across its network and continues to ramp up capacity in response to robust summer and winter travel demand.

Passengers flying on Emirates’ retrofitted aircraft can expect a four-class layout, with Premium Economy configured in a 2-4-2 layout and featuring wider seats, enhanced recline, extra legroom, personal charging ports, and cocktail tables. Aboard the A380, Premium Economy is located at the front of the main deck with 56 seats.

These developments underscore Emirates’ strategy to expand capacity while delivering elevated comfort and product consistency across its most in-demand routes.
