David Ukesone (72) restrained by cabin crew on Emirates flight to Chicago; passenger says he was ‘bound and beaten’

David Ukesone, a 72-year-old man, was bound and beaten on an Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai to Chicago, ABC7 Chicago news reported yesterday. The passenger had to spend several days in the hospital to recover from his injuries sustained during that flight.

David took this Emirates Airlines flight from Nigeria to Chicago to meet his wife in the United States, but shortly after leaving Dubai, he ran into “troubles” on the aircraft.

David said he doesn’t understand why he was restrained for eight hours without food or water. His attorney replied: “It’s appalling: even animals are not allowed to be tied down for eight hours, not to talk about a human being and of his age“.

In a statement Emirates Airlines confirmed that a passenger on flight EK235 from Dubai to Chicago on 23 January had to be restrained by cabin crew due to unruly behaviour. The passenger was handed over to the authorities on arrival in Chicago.
