APU malfunction on Emirates Airline Boeing 777 at Malta Airport

On 6 March, an Emirates Airline Boeing 777 (A6-ECV) encountered a malfunction with its auxiliary power unit (APU) at Malta Airport. Smoke was coming out of the APU’s exhaust. Emergency services rushed to the aircraft while the airport was temporarily closed. 

Around 14:00 (local time) the airport resumed normal operations. The aircraft safely departed back to Larnaca Airport yet with a delay of 4 hours and 15 minutes.
