This picture of an Emirates Airline Airbus A380 (A6-EOP) is currently going viral on social media. According to Twitter-account JacDec, this A380 was seriously damaged in a maintenance mishap at Dubai, United Arab Emirates when it fell off the jacks and crashed on the ground. There is visible damage to the aircraft’s nose-gear, radome and left-hand door 1. The aircraft last operated flight EK377 between Bangkok and Dubai on 20 August.
According to Twitter-account FATIII Aviation, the mishap occurred on 22 August. Somebody retracted the aircraft’s landing gear without the required pin inserted and the aircraft was not on a support stanchion.
