On 1 July, an Electra Airways Boeing 737-400 (LZ-EBA) operated a flight between Cologne Bonn Airport, Germany and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport, Israel. The crew, however, prepared for an emergency landing at Tel Aviv airport as tire parts were found on the runway in Cologne.
The aircraft carried 152 passengers and crew members and emergency services were at the highest alert, 100 ambulances awaited the aircraft at the airport’s premises. The aircraft, assisted by two Israeli air force F-16’s safely landed at the Israeli airport.
