El Al Israel Airlines is suspending its route to Johannesburg at the end of March due to a significant drop in demand. The airline cites the accusation of genocide against Israel by South Africa at the World Court as a factor impacting travel demand to South Africa.
The decision is also influenced by the current security situation. El Al plans to redirect the aircraft used on the Johannesburg route to expand services to North America, Bangkok, and Tokyo while exploring new routes.
