EgyptAir will launch a new year-round service between Birmingham Airport and Cairo International Airport from 27 October 2026, marking the airport’s first-ever direct link to the Egyptian capital.
The airline will operate the route four times weekly, with flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays using its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The new service expands Birmingham Airport’s network to Egypt, complementing existing connections to Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh.
Airport and airline executives said the route will serve a broad range of passengers, including leisure travellers, business customers and those visiting friends and relatives. The service will also provide convenient onward connections through Cairo to destinations across Egypt via EgyptAir’s domestic network.
Birmingham Airport said the addition of Cairo strengthens its long-haul offering and gives passengers in the Midlands direct access to one of the world’s most historic and culturally rich destinations.
