Boeing and EgyptAir announced today that the Egyptian national airline took delivery of its first 737 MAX. The 737-8 is the first of 18 aeroplanes leased from SMBC Aviation Capital to be delivered and represents the first 737 MAX in Egypt.

EgyptAir has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX 8, marking a key milestone in its fleet renewal strategy. The aircraft is the first of 18 737-8 jets being leased from SMBC Aviation Capital.

The 737 MAX will enhance operational efficiency and reduce fuel consumption and emissions by around 20% compared to older models. It will be deployed on short- and medium-haul routes, including destinations such as Paris, Brussels, Istanbul and Vienna.

The addition complements EgyptAir’s existing fleet of Next-Generation 737s and supports its goal of maintaining a modern, fuel-efficient fleet. The aircraft also introduces upgraded passenger features, including Boeing’s Sky Interior.

This delivery extends a decades-long partnership between EgyptAir and Boeing and positions the airline for continued growth with more efficient, next-generation aircraft.
