easyJet has recorded its busiest-ever operating day, carrying more than 343,000 passengers on over 2,000 flights across its network.
The UK accounted for more than 196,000 passengers and 1,100 flights, also establishing a new single-day record for the airline’s British operations.
The milestone came during easyJet’s largest summer programme to date. Eight additional Airbus A320-family aircraft joined its UK-based fleet at Bristol, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow, while the airline opened its newest base at Newcastle.
easyJet offered more than 39 million seats from UK airports during the summer—around 500,000 more than last year—and launched 53 routes. Growth included additional services to longer-range leisure destinations in Türkiye, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco.
Palma, Faro, Alicante and Milan were among the leading destinations for late-summer trips, while Palma, Tenerife and Rhodes were the most popular easyJet Holidays destinations over the bank-holiday weekend.
The carrier currently serves 22 UK airports, offering more than 650 routes to 139 destinations from the country.
