This compared to 2017’s peak summer travel day on 8th September when more than 267,000 customers flew across the network.
In the UK alone, over 170,000 passengers flew to or from easyJet’s UK airports on over 1,007 flights setting another record for the most customers travelling with the airline on one day.
Barcelona, Faro, Malaga, and Palma topped the list of most popular destinations.
Sophie Dekkers, easyJet’s UK Director, said:
“September has always been one of our busiest times of year and this year was no exception.
“Every year, more and more people choose easyJet to take them on their late Summer getaways or for business trips and this year has broken records once again.
“Whether customers fly with us to enjoy a relaxing break, visiting friends and family or for work, we continue to do everything possible to make their travel as easy and of course, affordable as possible.”
