Last night, negotiations between DHL Aviation Belgium management and the trade unions ended without an agreement. Shortly after that news, the night shift decided to stop working. The night before, part of the night shift already refused to work.
According to Kurt Callaerts (ACV-CSC Transcom union), the social conflict at DHL Aviation has different aspects: from malpractices in the workplace, such as intimidation of employees by managers, a high and excessive work pressure, poor air quality (too hot or too cold temperatures in the building).
The trade unions also request an additional premium for night work and a higher commuting allowance.
