DHL Express and the Cathay Group have signed a new agreement for 2,400 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to be used on Air Hong Kong cargo flights from Seoul, Tokyo, and Singapore through 2025. The deal is expected to cut lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by about 7,190 tonnes, equivalent to over 100 Hong Kong–Singapore Airbus A330 freighter flights.

This marks Air Hong Kong’s first SAF uplift and strengthens the long-standing DHL–Cathay partnership. Both companies see the move as part of a broader effort to scale SAF production and adoption in Asia, where supply remains limited. DHL is expanding its SAF commitments across the region and globally, while Cathay is advancing SAF initiatives through supplier partnerships, its Corporate SAF Programme, and regional coalitions.

The collaboration aligns with DHL’s Strategy 2030 “green logistics” goals and Cathay’s mission to build a regional SAF ecosystem, positioning both as leaders in decarbonising air cargo.
