A Delta Air Lines Boeing 737-900ER (registered N894DN) bound for Las Vegas with 155 people onboard aborted its takeoff from Minneapolis as flight DL2261 on Wednesday when a cockpit window unexpectedly opened at low speed.
The pilots safely halted the takeoff, telling air traffic control there was no need for emergency services and that they would run through safety checklists. Cockpit windows on 737s can be opened on the ground but stay sealed in flight due to cabin pressure.
Passengers were transferred to another aircraft (Boeing 737-900ER reg. N896DN) and departed two hours later. Delta said the crew acted according to training and apologised for the delay.
