Delta has embarked on a full-fleet interior renovation of its 777 aircraft, with the first refreshed 777-200ER taking flight this afternoon from Detroit (DTW) to Beijing (PEK) featuring the award-winning Delta One suites, the new Delta Premium Select cabin and the widest Main Cabin seats of Delta’s international fleet, among other interior upgrades.

Highlights of Delta’s refreshed 777 aircraft include:

  • 296 seats total, including seating for 28 in award-winning Delta One suites, 48 in the popular Delta Premium Select cabin and 220 in Main Cabin
  • 9-abreast seating in Main Cabin versus the industry norm of 10 across
  • Seatback entertainment screens throughout with Delta Studio and thousands of hours of content — free of charge across all cabins
  • Full-spectrum LED ambient lighting with customized lighting schemes depending on phase of flight

A walkthrough of the cabins:

Delta One Suites

Designed with an emphasis on exceptional customer comfort and privacy, the award-winning Delta One suite offers each customer a private space accessed by a sliding door with thoughtfully designed personal stowage areas, an advanced in-flight entertainment system, and premium trim and finishes to create an unparalleled business class experience with a comfortable, residential feel.

Delta Premium Select

The Delta Premium Select cabin reinforces Delta’s commitment to offering customers a range of options, allowing customers to tailor travel to their specific needs by providing additional space (with adjustable head and footrests) and elevated service.

Main Cabin

Delta’s retrofitted 777s will feature 18.5″ wide Main Cabin Seats — the widest of Delta’s international fleet. Each customer will also have personal power ports and complimentary premium entertainment on individual seatback screens.

The aircraft is equipped with Gogo Ku Wi-Fi connectivity and customers will have access to free mobile messaging while on board through iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

Delta’s first refreshed 777 will operate the Detroit and Beijing route on alternating days for the month of July only, filling in for the A350.

All eight of Delta’s 777-200ER and all 10 777-200LR aircraft will be retrofitted by the end of 2019.

The upgraded 777 design is part of Delta’s multi-billion dollar investment in the overall customer experience. In the past several years, the airline has made significant enhancements to the Main Cabin experience including free Main Cabin meals on select coast-to-coast routes, free mobile messaging, free in-flight entertainment, upgraded Main Cabin snacks, the addition of sparkling wine, access to Wi-Fi on nearly all flights, enhanced blankets and refreshed Flight Fuel food-for-purchase options. Recent upgrades to the Delta One in-flight experience include new chef-designed Delta One menus curated by Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo for flights from LAX, refreshed TUMI amenity kits with Kiehl’s products, and an Alessi-designed collection of service ware.
