Danish Air Transport expands wet lease operations with Iberia and Finnair

Share

Danish airline DAT is expanding its wet lease operations this summer, adding a new agreement that will see the carrier flying on behalf of both Iberia and Finnair. Starting 1 June and continuing through the end of the summer 2025 schedule, DAT will operate daily flights between Barcelona El Prat Airport and Helsinki Airport using an Airbus A320-200.

The move builds on DAT’s existing wet lease partnership with Finnair, which began in December 2024. The airline has since been flying one A320 (registration OY-JRS) for the Finnish flag carrier on a variety of European routes. This latest development introduces a second A320-200 (registration yet to be confirmed) into service under a wet lease agreement, based in Barcelona.

DAT operates five Airbus A320 aircraft alongside a fleet of 15 ATRs. Beyond its commitments in Europe, the airline is also active further afield. Since July 2024, DAT has been flying for Israir Airlines on routes to and from Tel Aviv with aircraft OY-RUH. Additionally, it maintains a year-long wet lease partnership with Uganda Airlines, operating regional services across Africa from Entebbe with its A320 registered OY-RUY.
